Diego Ezcurra is a reproductive biologist and veterinary scientist with more than 45 years of combined experience in advanced reproductive technologies (ART) across human and animal medicine.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires, completed a Fellowship in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis, and holds a Master of Science in Human Embryology and Andrology from Eastern Virginia Medical School.
He began his career in Argentina, where he founded and led Ezcurra Transferencias Embrionarias, operating five ART clinics and transferring more than 3,000 embryos per year for two decades.
He later joined Serono (EMD Serono, an affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany), where he held a series of global leadership positions over more than 25 years, including Medical Director for Fertility (U.S.), Global Scientific Director, Global Head of Medical Fertility (Geneva), and most recently Vice President, Head of Global Customer Engagements and Market Expansion within the Global Business Fertility Franchise.
In these roles, Diego led long-term global and regional strategies across North America, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, and oversaw clinical and fertility technology initiatives spanning in-licensing and global franchise innovation projects.
He has authored more than seventy peer-reviewed publications in reproductive medicine and has served as chair and faculty for hundreds of congresses and symposia worldwide. His professional memberships include the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, and ALPHA Scientists in Reproductive Medicine, among others.
