Giuseppe Silvestri, PhD

Director of Experimental Biology

Giuseppe is a Research Associate in the Griffin lab at the University of Kent (UK) with responsibilities for research activities, business development, teaching, and project coordination. He studied Molecular Biology in Naples (Italy) before moving to the UK and achieving an MSc in Reproductive Medicine and then a PhD in Genetics, birth from the University of Kent. He has authored several publications in the field of mammalian embryology and cytogenetics and his work has been pivotal to the growth and development of the IVF activities at The University of Kent. His research has focused on the early development of the mammalian embryo and, jointly with collaborators from the Applied Optics Group at Kent, he has pioneered the application of modern optics to gametes and early embryos.
